OUR SERVICES

physio services

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists are in the science of movement. Physiotherapists are experts in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and preventing disorders of movement. We work in partnership with our clients, assisting them in overcoming movement disorders and getting people back to their normal lives.

Physiotherapy can aid in your recovery from injury, reduce pain and stiffness, and increase mobility. Physiotherapists can also help prevent further injury through movement assessment, risk factor assessment and program planning to keep you in shape and injury free.

What will physiotherapy help with?

Physiotherapy can help virtually any condition that affects your muscles, joints, nervous system, and respiratory system. Common problems include painful conditions including:

  • Arthritis
  • Back and neck pain, including whiplash
  • Problems affecting children including cerebral palsy
  • Pregnancy-related symptoms such as back pain and stress incontinence
  • Work-related injuries
  • Asthma and other breathing difficulties
  • Sports injuries
  • Stroke and other neurological conditions

The following are common treatment methods physiotherapists may use:

  • Exercise programs to improve mobility and strengthen muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bones.
  • Joint manipulation and mobilization to reduce pain and stiffness
  • Muscle re-education to improve control
  • Airway clearance techniques and breathing exercises
  • Soft tissue mobilization (massage)
  • Dry needling
  • Shockwave therapy
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Assistance with prescription and use of aids, splints, crutches, walking sticks and wheelchairs.
